An intercontinental cargo service requires more than the right aircraft. The operator, traffic rights and required approvals must align for every sector.
Through our international airline partners, we can involve operators holding different Air Operator Certificates (AOCs) in a project. Depending on the mission, we combine suitable operators and coordinate handovers along the route.
An AOC is the certificate held by the operating airline. It does not replace route-specific traffic rights. We therefore coordinate the operational and approval requirements for the proposed flight programme with the operators involved.
You receive a coordinated, end-to-end solution with clearly defined responsibilities. Responsibility for flight operations remains with the airline operating each flight.

We bring the services involved into one coordinated process. The scope, handovers and responsibilities are agreed to suit your shipment.

Same-day Express.
When a missing component brings operations to a halt or an urgent shipment needs to arrive the same day, the total transit time matters.
We assess the right express solution based on the collection point, destination, shipment dimensions and latest acceptable delivery time. Aircraft and routing are matched to your requirements, with collection and onward delivery included if needed.
We confirm whether same-day delivery is feasible for the specific route and collection time. Availability, handling and import clearance all form part of the planning.
Personally accompanied transport
On-Board Courier.
Personally accompanied.
An On-Board Courier (OBC) personally accompanies your shipment on a scheduled passenger flight. This solution suits urgent consignments that can be carried by a courier and require personal accompaniment and a coordinated handover.
We coordinate the courier, flight connection and handover. On request, we also arrange collection from the shipper and delivery to the consignee.
Whether a shipment can travel by OBC depends on its contents, dimensions and weight, as well as airline, security and import requirements. We assess suitability before booking.

Can Lohn Aviation establish a dedicated cargo route for our company?
Yes. We develop bespoke cargo programmes on behalf of our clients, from recurring charter flights to long-term capacity solutions. The route, frequency, aircraft and operating model are tailored to your requirements. Implementation depends on availability and the requirements of the route concerned.
Are connections between China, Europe and the USA possible?
We plan cargo projects between these regions and across multiple continents. For each sector, we assess operational feasibility, traffic rights and required approvals with the operators involved. These considerations determine the final routing.
Do we need our own AOC as a client?
You do not need your own AOC to book a cargo charter or a transport solution coordinated by us. Flights are operated by an appropriately certified airline. Under a dry lease arrangement, the aircraft is integrated into the operations of a suitable AOC holder.
Does Lohn Aviation also provide door-to-door logistics?
Yes. On request, we coordinate collection, warehousing, handling, air transport and delivery through our international partner network. We coordinate the necessary customs and documentation processes with the relevant partners. The precise scope is set out in the quotation.
When is OBC suitable, and when should we use Same-day Express?
OBC suits personally accompanied consignments that can be carried by a courier on an appropriate passenger flight. Same-day Express addresses particularly tight delivery deadlines. We assess which option is suitable and achievable within the available time based on the shipment, route and available connections.
What information do you need for a quotation?
Please provide the collection point and destination, cargo contents, number of packages, weight, dimensions, cargo readiness time and required delivery time. For recurring cargo services, we also need the planned frequency, programme duration and expected volume. Any special cargo requirements should be included in the initial enquiry.
